Time to start this blog! I should have started years ago especially to chart our progress here in our little piece of paradise. Dragonfly Farm is on the Cataract River in Northern NSW and we purchased our share on this property in 2009 and moved here permanently 5 years ago in 2010.
We married here on the property a year later and it was the most marvelous day! I had the biggest smile on my face all day.
Anyway that is moving ahead too fast.  Stan and I decided to look for a new place to live together to live a simpler more peaceful life (boy were we wrong)
I had been poring over the magazines that I subscribed to that had advertisements for the sort of place we were hoping to purchase. Land with water in a semi isolated area and of course number one in our price range.
We needed to sell Stans home in order to buy a new home and set about finding a real estate agent and preparing the place for sale.  Little did we realise just how long that would take in a very depressed housing market. Especially when the major floods of 2010/11 and 2011/12 occurred in the middle of it and put people off the area, which had been severely affected by the floods a once in a lif time occurrence or so we thought until it happened again.
The floods affected me badly as I was already sinking into depression and I ended up being trapped at home alone each time the second time for 3 days before Stan managed to gallantly forge his was through flood waters to reach me.  We ended up being trapped at home without power for a week, and forged a special friendship with one neighbour who shared their resources and learning that its everyone for themselves when it came to another. Anyway that is another story
